ORANGE BLISS BOMBS
Looking for healthy bliss balls recipes? These zesty and citrus-nutritious orange bliss bombs energise and stabilise without fructose overload. Wholefoods that nourish the body...& nothing else.
Ingredients
2 oranges (approx.)…zest first and store zest in fridge for next day before squeezing juice.
450g activated goodMix Blend 13 soaked in fresh squeezed orange juice (soak approx. 2 cups of dry mix)
155g sunflower meal (grind raw sunflower seeds - 2Die4 Live Foods Activated seeds). These seeds taste very different to other seeds or unactivated seeds!
1 tspn cinnamon
1 tspn nutmeg
16 drops orange essential oil (food grade)
2 Tblspns (20g) orange rind zested
160g medjool dates, blended into a date paste (approx. 13 dates)
1 ½ tspns vanilla extract (Chefs Choice is great brand)
Approx 60g Coconut for rolling balls in.
Note: sunflower seeds from 2 Die 4 Live foods have a different texture as do all activated nuts, and the seeds have a slightly salty taste to them, hence no salt added to the mix. If you use another type of sunflower seed then bear in mind this may alter the flavor of your bomb, not to mention digestive processes!
Method
**Activate your Blend 13 in fresh squeezed orange juice (include some pulp) overnight, ensuring not to make it too wet, nicely moistened!
Grind sunflower seeds until fine and into a meal consistency.
Remove seeds from medjool dates and blend until forming a ball, sticky and paste like. A bamix bowl/blade set is perfect for this job.
In a mixing bowl, weigh in activated Blend 13 and combine all ingredients and mix with your hands or a wooden spoon until well combined. Your mix should form nice balls to roll into coconut or other desirable coating. If by chance the mix is too wet/sticky add a little more meal. If a tad too dry add a little more of a moist ingredient, orange juice, or simply moisten your hand with filtered water.
As with the activated goodMix blends, I advise refrigerating balls for no more than a few days. Preferably, freeze bliss bombs to keep for a time, allowing time to defrost before serving.
